Thanks for the review! I am now in the middle of searches for a perfect yogurt maker for me. I am more about to buy Cuisinart CYM-100 Electronic Yogurt Maker since a lot of reviews put it in the first place, though the price is not so pleasant, but quality of food is everything for me)
NOPE! Cuisinart DOES NOT produce the best yogurt maker because the temperature was off on both units I received; the temperature was too high and destroyed the culture. Both units ran over the maximum temperature and I had terrible results although I consistently monitored the temperature of the milk that was added into the machine. The machine only keeps the milk warm for several hours…you must still warm the milk to a certain degree and cool it to a certain degree before adding the yogurt culture! Sent both units back and ended up wasting a lot of money!
I’m sorry to hear that the CYM-100 didn’t work out well for you. We’ve had great experience with ours. We usually boil the milk prior to adding it into the Cuisinart, and then we let it do the rest (shut-off and switch to cooling mode), and it comes out with some of the best yogurt.
Did you end up going with a different machine/process?
Real helpful article, It is always beneficial to make our own yogurt @ home rather than store bought yogurt.
