DeLonghi Kmix Feb 06, 2014 yumme Equipment 0 If you’re a keen tea drinker, the kettle is perhaps the most important appliance in the entire kitchen. An electric kettle takes away the hassle of boiling water on the stove and makes the tea-making process much more efficient. DeLonghi is one of the more recognized small kitchen appliance brands on the market and the Kmix teakettle is one of its leading products. However, does it have what it takes to make your morning brew taste just that little bit sweeter? Here’s our DeLonghi Kmix review. Pros Every kettle serves exactly the same purpose: to boil water. However, some do it a lot better than others. Some kettles do it quicker than others; some do it more stylishly than others; some also do it more cheaply than others, too. With our DeLonghi Kmix review, we noticed that this kettle does many things better than others. We know that DeLonghi is a well-respected brand with a good reputation for producing solid performance appliances, so were expecting a decent kettle, and that’s what we got. The biggest plus point of the DeLonghi is that it looks fantastic. The Kmix range is available in nine different colors and every one of them is very attractive indeed, helped by its die-cast aluminum exterior. The kettle boils water quietly and quickly, and benefits from a handy safety shutoff when it starts boiling. The all-metal construction is extended to the base, which is separate from the kettle itself – this makes pouring very easy as there is no cord to worry about. The kettle also features a concealed heating element, which helps maintain the purity of the water. Cons The biggest downside we found in our DeLonghi Kmix review was that the sides of the kettle do get pretty hot. Adults, of course, will expect this of a kettle, but you should beware of placing the appliance within reach of children. Some might also say that the Kmix has a distinct lack of features – nothing more than the on/off boil setting. But what more could anyone really expect from a kettle? The only other negative aspect we could find was that the product is quite expensive for what it does – over $100 RRP. Conclusion We found in our DeLonghi Kmix review that, as far as kettle’s go, this is one of the best on the market. Yes, it is fairly pricey, but it is also sexy, a great performer and very well made. Highly recommended.
