Tiramisu Recipe Sep 26, 2013 yumme Desserts, Recipes 0 Tiramisu is a great dessert because it combines a lot of tasty ingredients to make one amazing dish. While you might have had this at Italian restaurants, did you know it’s something you can make at home? With just a little bit of time and effort you can create this dessert one your own and impress your family or guests coming over for dinner. It’s so easy to create you’ll wonder why you never made it before! IngredientsDirections 1 pound mascarpone cheese 2/3 cup milk 1 1/4 cups heavy cream 1 tsp vanilla extract 6 egg yolks 3/4 cup white sugar 1/4 cup strong coffee 2 tbsp your choice run 6 oz ladyfinger cookies 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder chocolate syrup (optional) Put a medium saucepan over low heat and add in the egg yolks along with sugar. Whisk both of these together until they are fully combined, and then add in the milk slowly. Continue to whisk while you cook this mixture over medium heat. Allow this to come to a boil and then let it continue to cook for 1 minute. After this, take the saucepan off of the heat and set it aside to cool for a few minutes. Once it’s cooled pour it into a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap tightly. Let this chill for one hour in the fridge so it can firm up. 2. Next, take a new bowl and in it beat together the vanilla with heavy cream until firm peaks appear. This should take around two minutes total, as the cream will go through stages until it firms up. After this is the right consistency, take the egg yolk mixture you made earlier and whisk the mascarpone cheese into it. There should be no lumps left in the mixture when you are finished and it should be completely smooth. Take a new bowl and mix together the rum and coffee. Then pull apart the ladyfingers lengthwise and dip them into the coffee and rum mixture. After these are soaked, place half of them into the bottom of a baking dish that is 7×11 in size. Spread half of the mascarpone cheese mixture on top of these so that they are all covered. Then, on top of this, spread on half of the whipped cream you made earlier. From here you will repeat the layering process with the ladyfingers, mascarpone and whipped cream. Once you are out of ingredients you will sprinkle the top with a light layering of the unsweetened cocoa powder. Cover this up and then put it in the fridge for 6 hours or overnight. It’s generally best when it gets to sit for a day or two, as this will allow all of the flavors to come together. Serve on a plate without anything else and you will have a perfectly balanced dessert that everyone will enjoy. Tips: If you don’t drink alcohol then you can leave out the rum and just use more coffee instead. You can drizzle chocolate syrup on the bottom of the baking dish if you want to add in some extra flavor to the dessert.
